Now for you to get into the pharmacy school you must first
study a science course in high school with maths, chemistry and biology
inclusive. Also you have to go through a pre-pharmacy school as this will be a
preparatory ground for you to gain an entry into the main school. The pre- pharmacy
school will take you one year, then if you get the required score which is the
requirement for entry into the pharmacy school. The main school program will
span for four years then you are now a full graduate of pharmacy. This does not
mean you can work with the certificate, there is more to it.
The next step is acquiring a license, there are authorized
bodies that are in charge of issuing of licenses but you must have written and
passed their exams, then this will certify you as a pharmacist. Then you still
need to go for an internship with a licensed pharm, which will take about
another one year. Once you are through then you can boldly say you are now a
pharmacist, you can work any where you like with your license and certificate.
In US you can get a license from one state and use it to work in other states ,
this means that you do not have to get another license in case you are moving
or working in a another state quite different from where you were issued your
license.
The Salary of a Pharmacist
In terms of salary payment they are highly paid that is the
main reason so many people are going into this profession. They earn about
$170, 000 annually and on hourly basis the earn $50 per hour, also this salary
varies from state to state and from cities to cites, it is good to know that
there are some pharmacist that receives far more higher than the stipulated
amount this is due to their years of job experience as well as qualification.
